I have been feeling all of the positive blessings God is doing in my life! August is definitely off to a great start. Can you feel it too?
Over the course of the past few months, my faith has significantly increased. My faith is on another level. My faith is SO DOPE, that can't anybody tell me otherwise!! Okkur!?
However, my faith has not always been this strong. In fact, at one point I had lost all of my faith. I had to learn (with God's help) how to restore my faith to the point where it is now. I did three key things that led to my transformation in Christ which helped me level up in my faith.
So, if you're struggling in your faith, this is for you.
It's time to level up!
How To Level Up In Your Faith:
1. Forgive Yourself:
We hear a lot of talk about forgiving others, but sometimes "others" aren't the problem. Sometimes the problem is us! When I made the decision to give my life back to Christ two years ago, it was hard for me to even look at myself because of the woman I had become. I didn't recognize myself. I had to learn that if God can love me in my mess then I need to be able to do the same. I had to forgive myself. You forgive yourself by accepting your flaws and understanding you may not be perfect, but you serve a God who is.
I still struggle sometimes with those thoughts of "remember when.." or "no one's going to accept you." But those thoughts come from the enemy. The enemy will say little things in your ear when he sees that you're progressing, developing, and "leveling up" towards God's will.
2. Step Away:
Step away and remove yourself from people, things, or activities that bring out the worst in you. For me, I had to step away from social media, men, and alcohol. Looking back, I guess you could say I was fasting. I intentionally did not satisfy my flesh with all of the things I "thought" I couldn't live without. But as it turns out, I couldn't live without God. He restored my mind, my heart, and my inward view of myself. He transformed my life, BUT I also had to do my part. I had to be self-disciplined enough to step away from worldly things in order to receive God's best.
3. Get into His Presence:
Getting into God's presence means spending time with Him. For me, that looks like prayer, bible study, and worship. During the pandemic, I spent a lot of time doing all three of those things, but I spent a lot of time, especially, in worship. I allowed myself to be vulnerable. When you get into God's presence He covers you with His love. Having that one-on-one time with God is so important because it's in those moments where you can receive so much breakthrough. Breakthrough leads to your healing, and your healing leads to your testimony, and your testimony results in blessings.
Those are the three key things that have helped me level up in my faith, and I believe they will help you as well. It's easier said than done, but so was the "idea" of dying on the cross but yet Jesus died for all of our sins. (a word)
If you're struggling with your faith, it's okay. We've all been there. I have been there. It's called "faith" for a reason because every day you have to make the decision to choose even when you don't understand. I encourage you to choose God's will today.
