Sista Chat Mondays: Get up, again!

Updated: Jan 26, 2021

"When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade."

But what happens when life gives you pain, suffering, heartache, and dysfunction? What do you make of that?

You get up, and if you get knocked back down....get up, again!

When life comes at you hard, it may look impossible to see the light at the end of the tunnel. But there is a man named Jesus who bore it all on the cross so we don't have to. Anytime you feel like giving up, get up, again! Anytime you feel worthless, love yourself again! Anytime the weight of the world seems too much, lift your hands and surrender.

Whatever you're going through, it's for a reason. God doesn't waste our pain. I know that for a fact, because out of my pain blossomed an amazing women's ministry where I have a platform to share my testimony and how God brought me through.

If you’ve ever made it out of a storm, then you know what it feels like to overcome. For a long time, I never shared my struggles out of fear, judgment, and shame. But God told me, “someone needs to hear what you’ve been through for their breakthrough.”

Sometimes your trials are not because God is punishing you, but it’s because He’s using you to stand in the gap for someone else. He’s using your testimony to break down barriers. He’s using your life to be the example that God can use anyone! We’re living shamelessly for God and walking in purpose for those who don’t know how, so let your life’s story be the encouragement someone needs to hear. So get up again, because someone else needs your strength.

What in your life has kept you bound for too long? What situations have kept you from moving forward? What relationship made you feel unworthy? Give it all to God. Allow Him to take your pain away. No longer turn to the temporary pleasures of this world, but turn to God for a lifetime of abundance!

Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Meditate on that scripture this week.

Remember, God's plan.
